Men who are trained to protect and defend have their say about placing armed guards in America's schools, and of course, it's the exact opposite of the NRA line.
Former Astronaut Mark Kelly, the husband of former Congresswoman Giffords who was the victim of a mass shooting gave his opinion based on his relationships with many members of the elite Navy SEALS.
The former combat pilot said he had friends who had been elite Navy SEALs and they thought it was a “ridiculous” idea.
"I have friends that are former members of SEAL Team Six and I asked their opinion about what they think about an armed guard at the front of a school with a man potentially walking in with an assault rifle and a high-capacity magazine," he told Piers Morgan. "And you know what they think? They think it’s a ridiculous idea, that these things happen very fast.”
Banning weapons wouldn't be the answer, and neither would this. Somewhere, there's a rational solution that gives us the best of both worlds, but alarmism never solves any problems, it only creates them.
