Romney punted. And it fell short. In what may be the worst Presidential pick since, well, last election, and mirroring George H.W. Bush's questionable choice of " Mr. Potatoe Head " Dan Quayle, Mitt Romney, in pandering to the ideological right essentially blew it. Not only are the polls stating that Ryan's own home state is a toss up, something that a VP candidate is expected to deliver, many voters in states with a large percentage of retirees such as Florida and Ohio are moving out of Romney's reach. A VP candidate is usually expected to bring a surge. The choice of Ryan actually did less for Romney that McCain's choice of Sarah Palin, and it will more than likely end up as much more catastrophic.
