Mitt Romney doesn't get it. America is becoming the epitome of the "Melting Pot" that our forefathers envisioned, and despite his pandering to a base made up of one demographic will have to lead a nation whose population is made up of people from varying ethnic backgrounds.
Some seem to fear "multiculturalism" as the end of the U.S. as they know it, but actually the blood, sweat and contributions of Americans from all races is what made America the great nation that it is.
It appears that Mitt Romney and his handlers from their statements aren't aware that the President isn't elected to be the President of one race of people who inhabit the United States of America, but the President is elected to serve and protect the interests of all Americans, Black, White, Brown, Red, and any combination in between. Imagine the uproar if during his term, President Obama chose to openly pander to Blacks, giving them advantages over other Americans. We just witnessed that when an Office of African American Education was implemented by Executive Order, which is no different than the Office of Native American/Alaskan-Hawaii Native Education that has existed for decades.
The inference is clear here, the separation of voters by race, and the inference that Romney will be the leader of only one race of people and only look out for the interests of one race of people if elected. Sounds like Woodrow Wilson or Andrew Johnson reincarnated.
